Script to schedule

From script to shooting schedule in one flow.

Bring the script as a PDF or a Final Draft .fdx. SetSnitch breaks it down, builds the chrono and generates a shooting schedule from your brief, all in the same place.

Nothing is copied from one file to the next, so the schedule always knows what the breakdown knows.

The Wizard of Oz's chrono in the Nest: the story in order, by story day and place

The problem

The same facts, typed again at every step.

The script becomes a breakdown, the breakdown becomes a schedule, and the schedule becomes call sheets. In most productions each of those steps lives in its own file, so the same scenes and names get entered again, and a change in one has to be carried to the others by hand.

One flow, from the first page

The Snitch reads the script into scenes, story days, sets and elements, then builds the schedule from your brief with the whole breakdown in view.

The script. Laid out into its scenes the day you bring it in, so prep can start the same day.

The breakdown and the chrono. Every scene's needs, and the story in order by story day.

The schedule. Generated from your brief, then shaped by you, with the call sheets finding their own days.

Everything connected

The whole production, in one place, from prep to wrap.

The script becomes the breakdown, the breakdown becomes the schedule, the schedule becomes the call sheets, and the call sheets become the shoot day, live on iPhone and iPad. Each step knows what the one before it knows.

FAQ

Fair questions.

How fast can I get a shooting schedule from a script?

The Snitch breaks a feature down in a couple of minutes, and the schedule is generated from your brief right after. You then shape it the way you want it.

Do I need a finished breakdown first?

No. Bring the script and SetSnitch does the breakdown first. If you already have one as an .msd or a spreadsheet, bring that instead.

What happens when the script changes?

A new draft comes in beside the old one, and the breakdown and schedule work from whichever draft is current.

Bring your production. Not a new way of working.
